EPFO Confirms 8.25% Interest on Employees’ PF Deposits for FY25
Government Ratifies Higher Provident Fund Interest for FY2024–25, Benefiting Crores of Salaried Workers

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) Has Officially ratified An 8.25% Interest Rate On Employees’ PF Deposits For The financial Year 2024–25, As Confirmed By The Ministry Of Labour And Employment.

This Ratification By The Government Gives The Green Signal For The EPF Interest To Be Credited Into The Accounts Of Crores Of Salaried Individuals Across India. The Updated Interest Rate Marks A marginal Increase From 8.15% In FY 2022–23, Reflecting Improved Returns On The EPFO’s Investment Corpus Despite Volatile Market Conditions.

The Increase To 8.25% Was Earlier Recommended By The EPFO’s Central Board Of Trustees In Early 2024 And Has Now Been Fully Approved Following Standard Review And Consultation Processes.

“The Process Of Crediting Interest Will Begin Shortly,” A Senior EPFO Official Was Quoted Saying.

With More Than 6 Crore Active Subscribers, EPFO Remains One Of The world’s Largest Social Security Organizations, Managing Funds Worth Over ₹18 Lakh Crore. The New Interest Rate Is Expected To Positively Impact long-term Retirement Savings, Especially For Private-sector Employees Who Rely Heavily On EPF Contributions For Post-retirement Security.

The Ratified Interest Will Soon Reflect In Employees’ UAN-linked EPF Passbooks, And Members Can Check Their Updated Balances Through The EPFO Portal, SMS, Or UMANG App.

This Update Also Signals The Government’s Intent To Maintain competitive Interest Returns For EPF Members While Pushing Forward With Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Where financial Inclusion And Retirement Security Play A Key Role.
